Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of characters who will branch out from the primary party to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in quest for Casimir.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Questers and Planners tables.
Viewers can anticipate discovering which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
